Background to Small Talk

Small talk, founded in 2000 in Groß-Umstadt as a private enterprise, was born with the idea of enabling people of any age to learn a foreign language.

Small talk is led by Sylvia Wabersitzki, who gained her diploma in English through the Chamber of Commerce, IHK. She then worked for several international companies for a number of years before developing Small Talk.

Sylvia uses her experience to help people who are interested in improving and developing their English through individual lessons or small groups.  In addition to teaching it also offers a translation service.

"I have been attending "Senioren" English courses at Small Talk for 2 years. We are a lovely small group and have a lot of fun learning good English in an informal atmosphere."
Elke R., Groß-Umstadt

"As a 60 year old beginner, and after several unsuccessful attempts at the Volkshochschule, I finally found Sylvia Wabersitzki in Groß-Umstadt. Through her sympathetic teaching I still enjoy going to my weekly English lessons after three years."
Rosemarie D., Ober-Ramstadt

For some years Small Talk has been the leading institute in the area for Senior English classes. It enables all adults, even those without previous knowledge of learning a foreign language to experience success in learning with other people with a good sense of humour and diverse interests.

In addition to English, French, Italian and Spanish courses are also offered.

The teachers in small talk are experienced in providing understanding and individual support during the lessons in addition to their language expertise.
